Our History
The Pet Lady was founded in 1991 by Elizabeth Dunkle along with her mother, Mary Jean. They prided themselves on offering pampered care for pets in Naperville, Illinois. In 2015, Lauren Dunkle, Elizabeth’s niece, took over following in the footsteps of her aunt and grandmother. Lauren expanded the service area to include Elmhurst, Villa Park and Lombard, Illinois.
Lauren is a pet lover and is a furmom to Sassy, a Beagle/Jack Russel mix and Regina and Phoebe, Calico sisters. She prides herself in her knowledge for caring for all pets. Lauren is a member of Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and is a certified pet sitter through PSI. She is certified in pet First Aid and CPR.
Our staff has a combined over 30 years of experience caring for pets and we take pride in the care we provide to pets, whether it be a mid-day walk or spending time with pets while you are away from home. We cater our visits to fit your pets schedule along with following all established routines. We always consider the commands pets are taught and continue to reinforce those commands while with your pet!
