Origin of breed
The Sphynx cat is a breed of cat known for its lack of fur. Hairlessness in cats is a naturally occurring genetic mutation; however, the Sphynx cat, as a breed, was developed through selective breeding, starting in the 1960s.
Naked cats, or hairless cats, as they are properly known, have unique grooming needs and distinct personalities.
Hairless cats make excellent pets.
They are known for having heart issues and there is a chance of muscle issues such as myopathy and spasticity.

Care for Hairless Cats
Grooming
They lack long hair to absorb oils from their skin, so they need regular baths.
Aim to bathe a hairless cat approximately once a week.
Care should be taken to clean their eyes properly.
Sensitivity to temperatures
Can a hairless cat get sunburnt? Do hairless cats get cold? Of course! Hairless cats can be sensitive to both the cold and the sun.
Healthy eating
Hairless cats have fast metabolisms and may eat a bit more than other cats.
