Episode 18 - Fireworks and Pets

In today’s episode Lauren dives into what really makes our pets scared and nervous about fireworks.  We also offer great tips to help ease your pets anxieties during firework celebrations.

• They are loud and booming 

• Fireworks can be unpredictable and go off in different intervals and levels 

• To our pets, fireworks pose a threat to their safety and set off their fight or flight response 

• Fireworks can make your pet feel trapped when they cannot escape them 

• What can we do to help our pets feel safe and secure? 

• Keep your pets indoors and bring all outdoor pets inside 

• Create a safe place for your pet to go if they get scared 

• Try a calming wrap or thundershirt for your pet 

• Desensitize your pet 

• Limit your dogs walks on days with fireworks to early in the day before the celebrations begin
